Goal
The idea is to enforce the ability to encrypt any transactions or messages to the chain and it gets decrypted after some points.
The targets are multiple:
- Filecoin network: Once FVM starts to be up, then we want to be able to provide front running protection (and general encryption) via the FVM
- Arbitrum, Ethereum (once possibilities are enabled), etc
Current Status
- Arbitrum: Confirmed EIP is enough to verify drand randomness On arbitrum and ask them if they can implement it
- Filecoin: FIP discussion out there but βstuckβ, no answer so far
Log
β£
- Confirm EIP is enough to verify drand randomness
- Sent email to Arbitrum to confirm interest and possibility of integrating this
- Question about
β£
- Goal was to get them interested in drand's randomness and timelock encryption
- Discussed the sequencer model where they intend to have a committee just for the reason of ordering
- Frontrunning protection then is maybe not their first priority because they are exploring other ways to search for it - but supporting it at the application layer might be good enough then
- Then next step would be to integrate drand's randomness into it - later down the road, getting that timelock feature once drand supports it
- Next step:
- Item for me is to run a check on EIP for BLS12-381 - they said they would likely be able to integrate fairly easily
- Getting them to know the details of timelock encryption and what would be needed for them
