Storage Protocols is a focus area for the Protocol Opportunity team in Cryptonet.
🥅 Goals
- Research, design and implement protocols that improve the quality of storage services provided by Filecoin (eg, Perpetual Storage, Retrieval Assurance, Reputation Systems,…);
- Research, design and implement protocols that empower other chains to use FIlecoin storage capabilities (eg, web3bounty.app);
- (2023 new!) Research and Development focused on improving the storage onboarding experience (both for CC sectors and storage deals) and sector maintenance;
- Prioritizing is based on Storage Providers needs and pain points.

Filecoin Storage Optimisations
Prioritization effort, see:
Storage Optimizations: Projects Overview and DependenciesPeSto (Persistent Storage in Filecoin) - collab with Lotus
Key results (”how?”):
- Define protocol gaps and develop protocol refinements to enable data use cases on Filecoin storage.
Milestones (user roadmap, or “what when?”):
See FilFil: PeSto and Filecoin Archive

Retriev.org
Retriev.orgDRI: @Deleted User
Objective (”why?”):
- Design and implement a protocol that makes not answering retrieval requests irrational (ie, not profitable) for the Storage Providers.
Milestones/Planning (user roadmap, or “what when?”):

Bounty Contracts (MVP only)
DRI: @Deleted User
Objective (”why?”):
- Increase the adoption of Filecoin by empowering other chains to store on Filecoin.
Key results (”how?”):
- Design and implement a smart contract that allows to access Filecoin Storage Market from EVM compatible blockchains.
Milestones/Planning (user roadmap, or “what when?”):
